Today was a pretty mellow day. Started off with a yoga class and that was nice. Nice to try and keep the body and mind at ease, then went for some slalom sailing with Swift. Sailed on the new TR 3 6.6 and was feeling pretty good. Had some nice acceleration out of the turns and was pretty good top end speed. Looks like there should be a little bump in the swell tomorrow so maybe back to Hookipa!

Today was a pretty gusty day. Went out for two hours at Hookipa and then down the coast to do some slalom sailing with Robby Swift. He is going for slalom this year so he is keen to start training. We had a pretty good session and it made it fun to have someone to train with so hopefully we will keep on going for it. Robby Naish was out the other day as well and I got a nice snap of him that i though you might enjoy.

Sailing here on Maui has been top notch lately! Good winds nice waves and non crowded spots make for lots of good waves all to yourself. Yesterday managed to go sailing in for a bit and then went over to watch the sunset on Little Beach. Was a great time! Then went and had a nice bbq on the beach with some friends and then had some fun with the camera. I have to post two photos up today so you get the feeling. Maui is amazing!

Maui has been sick the last couple days. I love it!! Wind and waves and almost no one out. Had a great session today even though I had a late night last night. You know it is going to be a good day when you nail a 360 and a sick areal off the lip. I was like I should go out on Friday night more often. I was getting tired and I stuck another 360 and so I was like time to come in. Sailed on my Legend 5.0 and it was pretty sweet. Tried out some new camera angle and I think it came out pretty cool.

Today was a great day out on the water. January proved to be amazing with three days of the best windsurfing you can find. The best thing about it is it is so uncrowded out there and I can get so many waves it tires you out in less than no time. Got out on the 5.0 Legend today and it was pretty windy. Guys finally showed up around 2 and by then I already had so many waves that it was time to go in and take some pictures. From the Hookipa cliff it looked to me like the standouts today were Jason Stone who stuck a perfect 360 on the wave and Graham Ezzy who attempted a backloop off the lip which was pretty sick!. Hopefully will be more of the same tomorrow!

Had a nice a busy day today! Just the way I like it. Woke up and went to do some training in the gym and then met up with a friend of mine from Tahiti to talk about the new TR 3 racing sail and rig it up with him and he was happy to see all the new improvements. After that went sailing and had a pretty fun time. The surf was great, the wind was fun and there was not too many people out. January time in Maui is the best! All that topped off with a great sunset!

Woke up and went to Yoga.. Was pretty good warm up to the day. Breath in breath out! Better yourself to better others! Went out for a sail at Kuau and was pretty bad. I thought it would be a good opportunity to sail a different spot than Hookipa but it wasnt. Just choppy bumpy mushy waves. Went up to Hookipa after that and the sailing there was a little better. I was on my 5.3 Legend and it was just too much so went in and took some pictures. Another day tomorrow.

Woke up and feeling better finally. It seems like I have been sick all year.. Well I almost have. I have been trying to shake off this cold for quite a while and it is really a pain in the head. Anyhow managed to drag myself out of bed and to the gym for a quick workout and then down to check the beach. Hookipa looked ok but super gusty and off shore winds. I went back and did some Sunday choirs and a little relaxing getting tuned up for another week on the grindstone. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

It was so windy up in Haiku this morning as I awoke to a white capped Pacific Ocean. Today was going to be a good day. The wind was howling, the trees were whipping, and when I got down to the beach it looked pretty good. So we decided to get greedy and go to our favorite secret spot only to have it not windy at all. So then back to Hookipa and found it to be really gusty and I just wasn't that into it. I sailed for a half hour and went back in. I have been really sick lately so I figured it was a good time to get better and chill out and relax. The first supercross of the season was on tonight with James Stewart winning! I love watching other people being there best!

Maui has been really hit and miss lately. The forecast looks good but then it doesn't really deliver much. Today there was wind in the air but it just wasn't really hitting the water. Yesterday there was supposed to be big swell and nothing really showed up here on Maui. Good time for sinking into your new years resolutions and taking care of business.
One thing is for sure is that we have been having amazing sunsets! Check out the last one of 2006. Ahh.. Maui is pretty amazing!

Sad to see 2006 go. It was one of my best years of my life! Too much fun. But now the new challenge of a new year is here and I am ready to conquer it. Today was a time for reflection and realizing how great life is. Take it in and live it up!

What a great year it has been. I cant believe it is almost over. In 2000 I thought that it just couldn't any better, it continued to get even better. So this year has been one of the best so far winning the PWA Wave title and having a super fun year all around. Cant ask for too much more. If 2007 is going to be better that 2006, I cant wait for it to come!

Just got back from an amazing Christmas on Oahu. Beautiful Beaches and nice sunshine made the day oh so nice. We got to out out to the amazing sandbar in Kanaohe Bay and had some good times. Walking the beaches of Kailua and Lani Kai are some of the most amazing beaches in the world. To top it off they are only a 20 minute flight away.. Boy life is good. Hope everyone had a great day and wishing you all the best!

Just had one of those days. I guess you got to take the good with the bad. Heres my story though. I went out for a towin surf session and had a terrible session. The wind came up and was not very good for surfing only to come back to find my super expensive camera lens stolen from my car. That was not all it was my friends video camera, my phone with all my numbers on it, my ipod, my sunglasses, my christmas presents for my friends and family, to top it all off was a bad day on the water as well. Oh well I guess you live and learn.

Well it has been a whirlwind weekend and tons of fun going on over here. Been sailing some slalom as well as some fun wavesailing here and there but mostly working on concrete. Concrete you say.. I didnt know windsurfers worked on concrete. Well my dad is pouring concrete for his cottage and after all the help he has given me over the years I figure two days of helping him is a smart thing to do. But I tell you one thing, Concrete work is hard. One more thing is that concrete work really motivates me to get out on the water and keep training and pushing hard for some more world titles. It is good motivation that is for sure!
Tomorrow I am back on the water and cant wait to get there!

The last few days the winds have really kicked in. We got some amazing wave sailing in and also some good testing on the new TR 3's. Today we actually went for some speed sailing and got some amazing pictures of the new sails. We were sailing at a place called Thousand Peaks and it was near gale strength winds. It was pretty hard to sail out there but the new sails really came in to there own as the sun set into the horizon. Looks like it the wind is back in Maui!

Been having some fun last couple days here. They had a womens professional surfing contest at Honolua Bay and I managed to go over there and get a couple snap shots from the water which was really cool. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Then came back and sailed the infamous Jaws. Was small but there were some sets that made it pretty fun. Today was still quite windy with some waves but just got out on the slalom stuff today. Needed to test the new TR- 3's out and the sails are working quite nice. More testing still happening everyday.

Yesterday was pretty big.. Some big sets rolling through. I went and check out Jaws in the morning and was too small to have some fun but I think that it picked up during the day and we actually missed it a bit. I ended up sailing outside Sprecks and it was not that good. It had some HUGE waves but the wind was onshore. Ended up going down to Kanaha for some fun at the end of the day. I had some great rides there and was nice to go down there and check it out.

Looks like tomorrow is going to be the big day! The swell is looking to kick in tomorrow with some wind as well. The swell has hit the Hawaiian buoys and it looks to be something that is going to be either surfing or sailing at "Jaws". Time will tell.

Just had the most epic party of the year almost. Fun was had by all in celebration of me winning the 2006 PWA Wave World Title. A bit hungover today but worth the pain! Sailed on 5.3 Legend and the conditions were average to bad.
