Good day for me.. I am super stoked...Today I had a second and finally had a 1st in the last round of the day. It was a nail biter... it all came down to today. I was in fourth going into the last day with Bjorn, Matt and Antoine all fighting for position. In the first round of the day, I nearly lost it when I crashed at the first gybe in the semi final. I got up and I was in Last and knew that I had to put it down. I started flying through the gybes with reckless abandon picking off people left and right. I managed to pass two guys right at the last mark to squeak my way into the final. In the final of the first round I really wanted to win it.. I had a weak start and still was pushing hard in the gybes. At the second mark I went hard and inside squeezing in to a small gap and making Antoine crash. Ooops, but it put me into third and then at the last mark I sneeked inside of Matt to claim second. I knew all I had to do was just keep in front of Matt and I would be good. Bjorn tanked the race and I knew with that finish I had secured 3rd place and 2nd place was right within my reach.

There was a slim chance to go into first but Antoine would really have to make a mistake finishing 9th or worse. Matt was still in 2nd and I knew that I had to make my move. I wanted a victory. Equiped with my 5,1 TR-3 and my Starboard Isonic 87 I blasted down the first leg just shouting at myself.. "go kev.. go! You cand do it.. Hold it on!!" and that is exactly what I did.. I rounded in first and I claimed my first race win of the event. I was stoked. Antione finished in 2nd and Matt in third making me move into 2nd for the event. I was pretty stoked. I sailed a great event. Made it to every final, ended up througing out a 5th place... Pretty consistant, just need to be in first everytime consistant. We have one day off and then to Fuerte for some more racing. Big congrats to Antoine and Matt for a great race. With 14 rounds of racing, consistantcy is the name of the game!!
