Well yesterday i had a wedding shoot. I didnt do very good. I tried hard but I just didnt feel like it went too good. Here are some of the better ones.

Conditions here on Maui are pretty good right now. Not too many waves but nice for slalom and freeriding away! Sailed today on the new 6.0 Switch and was really a nice sail.

Let me know what you think about the wedding shots!

Hi Kevin, To be honest I think that you are being a bit hard on yourself with regards to the shots you are getting. From what I am seeing you have a unique perspective and that the people you are shooting for are quite lucky to have something a bit different incorperated into there special day. They are not getting the standard they are getting something unique and much more fun and memorable for that reason.

Yes, Jazz is right. You're doing well with these pics. I hope the happy couple appreciate it.

Thanks guys! I had fun doing it but you know how it goes. Perfection is what I am shooting for! Just need some more expirience!

I agree with the comments here. I think that your perspective is great.
don't be too hard on yourself and keep on shooting!

I'm getting married in october near chrissy field in SF, are you going to be out in CA then? what do you charge to shoot a wedding?

I go along with Jazz and the others - I would be hard-pressed to find anything wrong with your wedding photography. But then, I am no expert on photography or on weddings, much less the unholy union of the two! And besides, if they don't like it, they can simply re-do the whole wedding, and have you re-do all the shots. So there.

Kevin, you would probably enjoy the movie, >>Night of the Gypsies<< which won the best foreign film award at Cannes a decade ago. It's a rather entertaining wedding movie filmed by Yugoslavians during their unsettled war period.

Hello, Kevin, and thank you for your blog, I really do enjoy it.

I think it's cool you are sharing your photos. As for the wedding photos, I would have liked to see a few more versions of the first one; i.e., zoomed in on each person. I think you included both people to show what was happening at the moment, but it might have been good for one person to be the main focus. What you have is nice, though.

I don't know why the rings photo is not in color, I think that would be better.

The other two photos of bride and groom are quite nice! As for the other photos, your composition could use some work; I would crop these as there are some nice elements there, they just aren't the center of attention. Crop the photos so one thing is more the center of attention.

Last but not least, The Joy of Photography is an excellent book.

Thanks again for sharin
