Today I went for my first stand up paddle downwinder. I am still uncertain about it. Everytime I thought about it I was like man I wish I had my sail on to glide myself downwind. But it was a good workout. Uses your core muscles quite a bit and is good for yoru balancing.. Something different is always good to put in the training!

Had a nice sunset today as well!

Often I wonder how it would feel to get on a surfboard again. At an early season swap, I bought a directional kite board for $50 which is similar to a windsurfer in shape. I also saw that you're not getting much wind. However, it's wind that I would have to go board sailing in.

Kev,

you are probably getting ready to leave for Alcati soon. Do you send your gear from the Canaries and collect it in Turkey or do you bring it all the way to Hawaii and then back again ? I would assume the former but don't know and thus I ask.
Allso, what kind of dry land physical training are you up to ? Have you been able to practice racing since you've been back ? Do you feel it's necessary ?

Hope there aren't too many questions here.
Good Luck in Turkey !

Hey Kev,
How do you set your mind to attempt new moves? I met you at Jalama Beach when you were shooting a video on that 0 to 40 MPH day 2 years ago. I sailed there that day but I can't go pass throwing a volcan or a forward loop. What's wrong with me?
When will you be in the central coast again?
Best of luck on your next trip.
Julio

Hope you're still doing stand up paddle surf in Maui? I was there in May and paddled at Kite Beach in 25 mph winds . It was nuts. Check out what's going on in SUP on Oahu at www.StandUpPaddleSurf.net
