It was Christmas time when I got home.. Wow.. my new Gaastra Sail order has arrived. All the masts and sails one could dream of. I got a bunch of Manic's, some Poison's to test out and all of the brand new 08 Vapors. Cant wait to get them out on the water.
From what I can gather Maui has been a raining mess. My driveway where people park on the grass is completely mud bogged out. My deck and entire house just feels like a mold magnet all moist and oversaturated!
Anyhow it is nice to be back. The trip that I just had was actually really fun. I wasn't looking forward to it too much but looking back on it now it was definitely fun times as well as great slalom training.

did I count 21 sails and 10 booms plus multiple boxes of masts?
Man... how many $$$ do you spend on excess luggage?
What did you say when they asked you what sizes you want?... just send me the lot. thanks.. ;-)

Yeah I told you the Gaasta team hooked me up.. I spend about $10,000 to $15,000 a year in excess baggage. It is really crazy nowadays with all the costs that involves carting all this gear around the world.
When they asked me what sizes I wanted, I said I'll have two of each :)

Welcome home Kev. So are you going to ride Gaastra to make a good boom. I know that you really want to use some old booms you have and grind the logo off it.(:

Kevin, how many days per year do you find yourself windsurfing? Will you log considerable time on all those sails? Whatever, your blog is a lot of fun, keep it up!!!!

Looks like fun times ahead stickering up all those sails hahah.
I can think of few things I'd rather than waking up and finding my garage looking like that.
Kill it this season man.

That garage is straight out of my dreams! Can I come crash at your house and borrow your stuff? I'm a great cook and I can be your rigging donkey :)

Obviously you can't give details, but how does the deal work. Are you allowed as many sails as you want or are there restrictions ? Are you allowed to then sell items at the end of the year. Plus an undisclosed cash amount. Are you able to give any rough details, with no specifics ?
What happens if you just trash all your gear ? I guess you just get sent more but is there a limit where they say, Kev, take it easy on this stuff.

Hey Kev,
stop by in FL for midwiners before you go to CV. little formula sailing would be nice warm up and would ease your traveling a bit.
what do you think?
all the best in the coming up season!!

The way the deal works is we agreed on an equipment budget and I basically order whatever i want and they charge me team rider price and take the costs off of my eq budget. So I could order 5 6.0 Vapors and 13 5.0 Manics as long as the cost of all the stuff adds up to the amount of the negotiated agreement.
As for the Midwinters I am going to have to pass on them...
