Well I would like to say that today was an easy one, but it was maybe one of the toughest races we have had. The race crew decided to do a full fleet long distance. I think alot of people on the beach thought it was fun but I am not sure how many of the racers thought it was that great. It was full on blowing solid 35 knots and doing a long distance in that with some chop was pretty tough on the old legs. It was a rabbit start meaning that you would have to go behind a boat that was crossing the line instead of just a normal line between a boat and a bouy. I guess the idea was that it would keep everyone from going overearly. I went for a pin end start and came off the line pretty clean and had the hammer down the entire first leg. Me and Antoine rounded in first and second and then the wind really started to pick up. It was howling out there. Steve Allen and Peter Volwater passed me on the second run in, Steve was on his Gaastra Vapor 5.0 powered up nicely while I was on my 5.5.. I was in control but still holding on as best I could! It was pretty long and hard but I managed to pass up to 3rd place and that was it for the day. The boats broke down and there was no more racing to be done. Check out my car here. The lovely folks at Tener Coche.com hooked me up with a sweet Mini. If you are ever looking for a car or house to buy in the Canaries look here first. This site is like the ebay of the islands here in Spain.

at Tuesday, 08 July 2008 02:19by R. Bruce Great report!!! That car reminds me of the times I used to give Boston Celtics players rides in small Ford Fairlanes. Be careful and don't injure yourself Kevin. Bouncing along in chop at those speeds and distances remains dangerous for your health. No competition is worth a serious knee or ankle injury.
