Sylt is a tough place for racing. You sit around all day just waiting and waiting to maybe go out on the water. Yesterday and today were crazy days that the wind was so light and gusty and for me it was just bit of bad luck. Oh well. It was a bit disheartening to see Bjorn get fifth place in the second round and have everybody finish without canceling the heat and then after he went up to the judges and put in his two cents, they cancelled the his heat. I was pretty shocked with that decision because I can tell you that there were some pretty doggy races that did not get called off. I guess that is the kind of pull you get when you win 12 World titles in a row. I have to say that I would have wanted them to call it off it was me, but they should have called it off when he went from first to fifth on the last mark. You got to love the racing!  Well the forcast looks great for tomorrow so hopefully we can pull off some quick races. We will see.

Well Kev you got to beat them i mean if you are a racer be tough and do what you have to do to win ,) I know that it's not as easy as it sounds but you can do it :) At least i think you have a better chance than Antoine and Bjorn cause you are a little bit lighter :) I hope you do well, after i read the blogs here and watch your and yours brother videos i have become your big fan :)

I am no world cup racer , but i met and sailed agianst a few national champion dingy boat sailors, and damn good sailors all around. It seems to me, and i could be wrong but the better the racer the more aggressive they are when racing. By aggressive this seems to involve, complaining, cajoling, yelling or otherwise doing things that to many would seem innappropriate , ie: even not getting out of they way even when they are in the wrong, to get their way and as such getting higher up the placings.
In the end they may win or at the least get a better overall ranking, in the series, and i guess better sponsorship.
the bottom line the quiet competitor seems to be at a disadvantage.Thats just my two bits.
Now when i race ( keelboat) i always tell myself to be more vocal. Theres still guys out there in the wrong , that dont listen.LOL
dont be shy give im hell.
