Baja Madness....

 matt_PSC

Well it sure feels good to be back in Baja...... the sun, the wind, the waves and just being out in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do but go windsurfing!!!! We have a packed out Wave Camp down here and yesterday was WINDY!

The first couple days of the camp were pretty light wind with small waves... Everybody was wondering what all the hype was about for this place- we just chuckled and said just you wait! When the wind starts blowing at 9am, you know you are in for some action. The swell was forecast to pick up to 12 feet but that didn’t quite happen- we got out on the water for as long as we could hang on and everybody was completely wasted! “Imagine if the last 3 days had been that windy, you guys would be useless!” I  said-

We have been seeing a lot of progress in all the campers- some say they can’t believe they didn’t do this 10 years ago. Some are learning the importance of wearing gloves the first couple days to avoid putting big holes in your hands.... OUCH! I really enjoy teaching and seeing everyone learn, no matter if it is doing a nice bottom turn or just learning a simple trick for jybing or tacking-

The food has been epic here at Solo Sports- we are all treated like Kings and Queens thanks to the top notch chef Emerita and her staff!

As for my ankles, they are getting whooped back into shape-  I still need to get them to bend a bit more to really feel comfortable smacking a big Hookipa lip but that will come..... San Carlos is a great stepping stone and I’m stoked to be down here having fun with such a great group of guests!

If you have never been to Punta San Carlols, put it on your list and make it happen one day! You will be stoked-

Wish I could have stayed another week down there to do the clinic. Sounds like it is getting good. Thanks for the blog and pics.

Matt,

You're looking good. Congrats. Sounded like you had good a "stepping stone".

Jack said he would have come to PSC just to see you sail, had he known you were down there. I told him you and I should get him on the board, that way he could travel with you :)
